★ there are four planets in the Valde System, with Valde III being the smallest of them ★ the planet is made up of three continents (Terin, Grenesh and Sotrall) and the capital is located in Sotrall called Verne Province ★ Sotrall is made up of a series of small interconnected island, connected on a larger scale with bridges between them and tends to use hydroelectric power -- many buildings have been constructed to be built on the water surface ★ located in the center of tbe islands of a built green habitat, developed for forestry and horticulture ★ the larger islands have cliff edges that fan off into the water or treelines that lead directly into the water. There are no beaches on any of the islands (no sand!) ★ Valde III is a vegetarian culture, their farmers working with the planet to cultivate and grow crops, with any animal life seen as protected parts of nature ★ there is a 21 hour day/night cycle and they typically sleep around 5 hours a night on average ★ their calendar is marked by seasons, with 64 days per season (320 a year). They have no term for weeks or months ★ every 100 years is known as a cycle and marks a new Era (noted by name). Eras are counted from the current Valdean traditions (begun 22 Eras ago). In historical purposes, the full date (year) is given but conversationally dates are marked by Era, season and day within the season (known as periods)

★ Valde III is a matriarchal society, with decidions made either by the Priestesses or the Government. Female surnames are typically passed down and females have an average longer lifespan ★ they have a ditheist religion surrounding two nature Goddesses. Bounties are left for the Huntress, for favour in harvest and animal fortune, or to the Earth Mother for favourable weather ★ they are space capable to neighbouring systems, building smaller trade or scientific ships, with no capabilities for lengthier or deep space travel ★
